Pastor Henry MorrisHenry E. Morris is a Pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, ordained in 1984. He served Our Saviour's Church of Fairfield CT as Pastor for 16 years. He is currently serving the New England Synod. In October 2006 he came to Faith Church, East Hartford CT as Interim Pastor.

He is a graduate of Augustana College, Rock Island IL, Bachelor of Music, cum laude, and Yale University Divinity School, Master of Divinity. While at Yale he was in the Institute of Sacred Music where he was named the Hugh Porter Scholar for 1982.

Pastor Morris has worked all around the New England Synod in his capacity as a musician, having served as Chair of the Synod Worship Committee and as conductor for numerous Synod Ordination liturgies. He has conducted many workshops in congregations and for the Synod regarding creative use of hymnody and music in Lutheran worship.

Since 2001 he has consulted with more than 25 congregations as a Stewardship advisor. He is widely sought as a leader for the New Consecration Sunday program and as a speaker for Stewardship or Special Fund dinners.

Pastor Morris has been deeply involved in the communities where he lives and serves. One of the founders of Operation Hope of Fairfield, he served as its third President. He has been President of two not-for-profit housing corporations and a vice-president of the Council of Churches of Greater Bridgeport.

He is a founding member of Citizens Organized for Responsible Development (CORD) in New Haven, a grass-roots alliance of neighborhood, religious, civic and labor groups united to advocate living wage jobs, health care, affordable housing, and safety for all New Haven citizens.

In addition to Ms work as a Church musician, Pastor Morris is an Adjunct Lecturer in Music at Southern Connecticut State University.

His hobbies include reading and film watching. He enjoys a long walk in an urban neighborhood as well as relaxing with friends at his cottage in New Hampshire.
